DESCRIPTION:Over the course of five weeks\, we will study the sentiment of 
 anti-Judaism and anti-Jews built into the very fabric of the Christian fai
 th.  We will examine erroneous assumptions regarding the Jewish historica
 l context of the first century and how these erroneous assumptions have co
 lored the Christian interpretation of the Gospels\; the history of anti-Je
 wish thought in the Christian Scriptures and in Church thought\; how the J
 ews\, as a whole\, are portrayed in Christian sacred literature and ideolo
 gy as “Christ killers”\; how the Jews fared under Christian political 
 power\; the role of the Church in the Holocaust\; what Vatican II accompli
 shed\; and what remains to be done.\n\nThis class in Christian Anti-Judais
 m\, taught by Rabbi Barry R. Friedman\, will meet on Zoom at 11:00 AM Cent
 ral Time on five Mondays—October 4\, 11\, 18\, 25 and November 1.
